Terms of service
1. The agreement
These terms are between you and the team behind Dockt at dockt.app ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them. You must be 18 or over.
2. Your account
- Keep your login details secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Give us an email address you actually check — it is how reminders and account notices reach you.
- One account per person. You may share individual items with others; you may not share your credentials.
3. Your content stays yours
You own everything you put into Dockt. You grant us only the licence we need to run the service for you: storing your content, processing it to extract dates and generate reminders, and displaying it to you and to people you explicitly share it with. That licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.
4. What you may not do
- Upload content you have no right to hold, or anything unlawful.
- Use Dockt to store data about other people in ways that break the law where you live.
- Attempt to breach, overload, reverse engineer or resell the service.
- Use automated means to extract data from the product beyond your own export.
5. Sharing
When you share an item, you are choosing to disclose it. We cannot control what the recipient does with what they can see. Receiving a shared item is free and does not require a paid plan. You can revoke a share at any time, and it takes effect immediately.
6. Free trial, prices and billing
- Every new account gets the full product free for 30 days, with no card required to start.
- After the trial, paid plans are Plus at $5 per month or $49 per year, and Circles at $8 per month or $89 per year. Prices exclude local sales tax where applicable.
- If you do not choose a plan, the account stops at the end of the trial. We do not charge you automatically off the back of a trial.
- Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time in the app and keep access to the end of the period you have paid for.
- Annual plans are refundable pro rata within the first 30 days.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions keep their price until the next renewal.
7. If you stop paying
Your data is not held hostage. You keep read access to what you have captured and can export all of it at any time. Capture, extraction and reminders pause until you resubscribe.
8. Reminders are a helper, not a guarantee
Dockt is designed to reduce the chance that something slips, but it depends on what you send it, on automated extraction that can misread a document, and on delivery by networks we do not control. It is not a substitute for your own judgement, and it is not legal, financial, medical or tax advice. You remain responsible for your own deadlines.
9. Availability
Dockt is in early access. We work to keep it available and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can, but we do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee at this stage.
10. Liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud. Otherwise, our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including a missed deadline or a renewal you would rather have cancelled.
11. Ending the agreement
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will give you notice and a chance to export your data unless the law prevents it.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be heard in its courts. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the mandatory protections of your home country.
