Who we are
Dockt is operated by the team behind the project. When the legal entity is formally established, this page will be updated to name it as the controller of your personal data.
What we collect
- Account data — your name, email address and authentication details.
- Content you send us — emails you forward, documents and photos you upload, and anything you type in. This can include sensitive information such as identity documents and health records, because that is what the product is for.
- Derived data — the dates, amounts and categories our systems extract from that content.
- Connections you authorise — calendar accounts you choose to sync.
- Usage and diagnostics — device type, app version, error reports and basic product analytics.
- Billing data — handled by our payment processor; we never see your full card number.
Why we use it
- To run the product: extract dates, file records, send reminders and sync calendars — this is performance of our contract with you.
- To let you share specific items with specific people, at your instruction.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix faults — our legitimate interest.
- To take payment and meet accounting obligations — a legal obligation.
- Where the content is sensitive, such as health information, we process it on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you send it to us.
What we never do
- We never sell your data.
- We never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We never use your content to train third-party AI models.
- We never scan a mailbox — only what you deliberately send to Dockt.
Who processes it on our behalf
A short list of service providers under contract: cloud hosting and storage, transactional email delivery, error monitoring, product analytics, and payment processing. Each is bound by a data-processing agreement and may only act on our instructions. The current named list will be published here at general availability.
Sharing at your instruction
When you share an item with someone, they can see that item and nothing else. They see your name and the content of what you shared. You can revoke access at any time, which takes effect immediately.
How long we keep it
- Content stays until you delete it or close your account.
- Deleted content leaves live systems immediately and backups within 35 days.
- Billing records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
- Diagnostic logs are kept for up to 90 days.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, delete or restrict processing of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time. Most of this is self-service in the app; a full support channel will be published here once we are in general availability. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in, plus limited first-party analytics to understand which features are used. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children
Dockt is for adults. You may store records about your children, but children may not hold their own account.
