FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

If something here isn't clear, we'll keep adding answers as we get closer to launch.

Getting started

What's the difference between Dockt and Docketful?

Docketful is the company; Dockt is the app, at dockt.app.

What does setting up actually involve?

Two minutes. You get a private forwarding address, you point the boring emails at it — renewals, bills, appointments, confirmations — and Dockt starts filling itself. Nothing else is required.

Do I have to fill anything in myself?

No. That's the whole point. You can add things by hand, but Dockt is designed so that you never have to sit down and enter your life into it.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes — iOS, Android and the web, with a share sheet so anything already on your phone can go straight into Dockt.

Reading your email

Does Dockt really read my email?

Only what you forward to your private Dockt address — never your whole inbox, never anything you don't send it. Forward the boring stuff; ignore the rest.

What does it do with what it reads?

It pulls out dates, amounts, payees and expiries, proposes a record, and shows it to you to confirm. It keeps the original so you can always check what it read. It is never used to advertise to you and never sold.

What if it gets something wrong?

You'll see it before it's filed — Dockt never guesses silently. Correct it once and it learns the format for next time.

Sharing & your life changing

How is sharing different from a shared family account?

Dockt shares a single thing with a single person. The car with your partner, the dog with your ex, your mum's documents with your sister. There's no one big shared space that everyone can see into.

Do the people I share with have to pay?

No. Receiving something shared with you is always free.

What happens when my life changes?

Because you share things, not an account, a break-up or a house move doesn't blow up your data. The circle dissolves; your records stay.

Can I hand everything over to someone in one go?

Yes — handover and export packs on the Circles plan bundle a whole area up for someone who needs it, whether that's a carer, an executor or just a house-sitter.

Privacy & security

Is it private?

Encrypted in transit and at rest, visible only to you and anyone you share a specific thing with. Full detail on our security page.

Read the security page

Is it end-to-end encrypted?

No, and we won't claim it is. Dockt reads your documents to extract dates and send reminders, which means our systems must be able to read them — that's incompatible with end-to-end encryption. We'd rather tell you exactly how it works than use a word that sounds better than the truth.

How your data is protected

Do you sell or share my data?

No. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not for model training. Our revenue is subscriptions — that's the whole business model.

Calendars & other apps

Does it replace my calendar?

No — it feeds it. Two-way sync with Google, Apple and Outlook.

Will I get flooded with notifications?

No. Dockt is quiet by default: one summary of what's coming, plus a direct warning for anything with money or legal consequence attached.

Billing

How does the free trial work?

The whole product, free for 30 days, with no card to start. If you do nothing at the end, it stops — you're never charged by surprise.

See plans

Do you charge per person?

Never. Plus is $5 a month, Circles is $8 a month, however many people you share things with.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

It stays. You keep read access and a full export of everything you've captured.

Still deciding?

Thirty days answers it better than we can.
